Role details
We are seeking a full-time Sr. R&D Chemist with 5–8 years of experience to join our growing Research and Development team. This role is responsible for formulating and testing both water-based and solvent-based release coatings and process aids for a variety of polymer applications.
This mid-level position reports to the Technical Director and works closely with the Production and Sales teams. The role is based at our Monroe, Connecticut, facility.
The successful candidate will be expected to: • Formulate new cleaners, primers, and release coatings for a variety of mold-release applications. • Conduct application testing of new cleaners and release coatings for use in the polymer industry. • Have experience with thermoset resins, including polyester, epoxy, and two-component polyurethane resins, as well as fiber-reinforced composites. • Experience with paints, coatings and adhesives is desirable. • Demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills and a commitment to developing high-quality products. • Collaborate effectively as part of a cross-functional team. • Work with Production and Quality Control to maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory. • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and prepare clear scientific documentation. • Demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career as an industrial chemist with a focus on polymers and advanced materials.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
