Infosys is seeking an Estimation & Quoting Engineer to support engineering estimation and quotation activities for aerospace manufacturing programs across commercial aerospace, defense, space, launch vehicle, and emerging aviation sectors. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in aerospace manufacturing processes, cost estimation, proposal support, and manufacturability assessments involving composite structures and advanced aerospace materials.

The candidate will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, operations, and business teams to develop accurate cost estimates, improve quoting processes, and establish scalable estimating methodologies. You will be a key contributor in evaluating customer requirements, assessing manufacturing feasibility, developing cost models, supporting proposal development activities, and driving continuous improvements in estimating processes.

You will create detailed estimation models, process frameworks, and best-practice templates while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to improve operational efficiency and quoting accuracy. You will also support knowledge transfer initiatives and help establish standardized estimating capabilities that enable the organization to meet the evolving needs of the aerospace industry.

Required Qualifications

Candidate can be located anywhere in the U.S. This position will require travel to Pottsville, PA facilities as needed.

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution in Mechanical Engineering or a related field required. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in aerospace engineering, manufacturing, estimation, quoting, process planning, or related disciplines.
• Experience supporting engineering estimates and customer quotations for aerospace manufacturing programs.
• Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing operations, tooling, process planning, and cost modeling methodologies.
• Experience analyzing product requirements, manufacturing processes, production plans, and engineering specifications to develop comprehensive estimates.
• Experience collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, operations, and business teams to improve estimation accuracy and responsiveness.
• Ability to evaluate manufacturing approaches and recommend cost-effective solutions.
• Experience developing and maintaining estimation standards, templates, methodologies, and best practices.
• Experience supporting proposal development activities for commercial and defense aerospace programs.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, manufacturing documentation, and technical specifications.
• Experience establishing scalable estimating processes to support operational growth and efficiency.
• Candidates must be willing to work with global teams and provide off-hours support when business needs require.

Technical Expertise

• Experience with honeycomb core structures.
• Strong understanding of composite manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of prepreg composite materials.
• Familiarity with core forming processes.
• Understanding of NC programming concepts.
• Experience in aerospace cost estimation and quotation development.
• Knowledge of tooling, process planning, and manufacturability assessments within aerospace manufacturing environments.

Industry Experience

Experience within the aerospace industry, including one or more of the following domains:

• Commercial Aerospace
• Defense Programs
• Space Applications
• Rocket and Launch Vehicle Programs
• Emerging Aviation Technologies

Mandatory Requirements

• Ability to support both commercial and defense aerospace portfolios.
• Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing and engineering practices across multiple domains.
• Ability to travel to customer locations and manufacturing facilities as required.
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently while supporting distributed teams.

• Experience developing advanced cost models for aerospace manufacturing environments.
• Experience with composite structures, honeycomb core products, and advanced aerospace materials.

• Experience supporting proposal development, bid management, and quotation processes.
• Knowledge of engineering change management and manufacturing process optimization.
• Experience working with cross-functional engineering, operations, and supply chain teams.
• Ability to lead workshops, drive process improvements, and support knowledge-sharing initiatives.
• Experience working in commercial, defense, and space manufacturing environments.
• Planning and coordination skills.
• Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
• Regular collaboration with engineering leadership and cross-functional teams.

The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time.

Should be able to communicate by telephone, email, and face-to-face. Travel may be required as per business and project requirements.

Estimated annual compensation range for this role will be as follows: In CA/ WA/NY/CO/MD/IL/MN/NJ: $73,000 to $102,200 In Washington, DC: $66,500 to $100,300
