Technical Service Representative

to serve as the primary technical liaison between customers and internal teams. This highly visible role offers a unique blend of laboratory analysis, technical troubleshooting, customer interaction, and cross-functional collaboration. You'll help customers solve real-world product challenges while partnering with Sales, R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to deliver innovative specialty chemical solutions.

What You'll Do

• Serve as the primary technical contact for customers, providing product support and troubleshooting assistance
• Investigate product performance concerns and customer complaints, identifying root causes and implementing solutions
• Analyze resin and varnish samples, interpret laboratory findings, and provide technical recommendations
• Conduct laboratory testing and product evaluations while documenting methods, results, and conclusions
• Prepare technical reports and communicate findings to customers and internal stakeholders
• Collaborate with Sales, R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Customer Service teams to resolve technical challenges
• Support customer visits, product demonstrations, technical presentations, and field evaluations
• Develop and deliver technical training programs for customers, distributors, and internal teams
• Assist the commercial team with new business opportunities, product qualifications, and customer onboarding
• Provide project updates and manage multiple customer requests and technical priorities simultaneously
• Represent the company at customer meetings, technical conferences, and industry events
• Champion safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline
• Hands-on laboratory experience within a chemical manufacturing, coatings, polymer, specialty chemical, or related environment
• Experience troubleshooting products and resolving technical issues
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable recommendations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and customer priorities
• Strong customer-service mindset and relationship-building skills
• Comfortable working in both laboratory and customer-facing environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Technical Service, Applications Chemistry, Product Development, Quality, Technical Support, or Technical Sales
• Experience with:

• Resins
• Varnishes
• Coatings
• Polymers
• Specialty Chemicals
• Adhesives
• Sealants

• Customer-facing technical support experience
• Experience delivering technical training or presentations
• Familiarity with quality systems, certifications, and manufacturing best practices
• Experience supporting commercial teams, customer acquisition efforts, or business development initiatives

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Saint Louis, MO.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $80000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
