Role details

Job Title: Compounding (Mixing) Operator Summary: The Custom Compounding Operator safely and efficiently performs mixing and milling operations using mechanical production equipment to prepare high-consistency silicone rubber in accordance with customer specifications, production instructions, quality standards, and safety requirements. The role operates multiple mixers, mills, and related equipment; accurately follows batch instructions; maintains production records; communicates relevant production information; and maintains a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Responsibilities Include: Follow all company safety, health, environmental, quality, and operating procedures.

Verify that required safety equipment is available and equipment guards and safety controls are properly positioned before beginning work. Review batch cards, electronic production records, and work instructions to determine required materials, quantities, weights, temperatures, processing sequences, and other specifications. Safely operate multiple mixers, mills, and related mechanical production equipment. Measure, weigh, load, mix, mill, and process materials according to established instructions and customer specifications.

Monitor equipment and production processes and promptly communicate unsafe conditions, equipment problems, material concerns, production deviations, or quality issues. Accurately complete and maintain batch records, production records, electronic entries, and other required documentation. Follow established procedures for material identification, handling, processing, packaging, labeling, and finishing. Perform required production and quality checks in accordance with applicable work instructions. Maintain the assigned work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition, including required housekeeping during shift transitions and following production runs.

Receive and communicate important production information with coworkers and supervisors during shift changes and throughout the workday. Work collaboratively with production, quality, maintenance, warehouse, and other support employees to meet production requirements. Participate in required safety, quality, equipment, and job-specific training. Use required personal protective equipment and follow applicable material-handling and chemical-safety procedures. Support continuous improvement activities related to safety, quality, housekeeping, productivity, and operational efficiency. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Starting pay $22.80 with scheduled increases at 90 days, 6 months, and 1 year.

Qualifications

The following are required for the role High school diploma or GED. Ability to read, understand, and follow written production instructions, batch documentation, safety procedures, and work assignments. Ability to perform basic arithmetic accurately, including calculations involving quantities, weights, measurements, and production specifications. Basic written communication skills necessary to accurately complete production records and other required documentation. Effective verbal communication skills are necessary to understand work assignments, communicate production information, and identify or explain operational concerns.

Ability to communicate effectively in the language used for safety instructions, production documentation, job training, and emergency communications at the facility. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based manufacturing environment. Ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust to changing production priorities. Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment after completing required training and qualification. Ability to follow detailed operating procedures and maintain attention to accuracy and quality. Ability and willingness to work the assigned shift and required overtime, weekends, or holidays based on operational needs.

Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to comply with applicable personal protective equipment requirements and all company safety, quality, environmental, and workplace policies. Must satisfy applicable pre-employment requirements in accordance with company policy and applicable law. The following are preferred for the role One or more years of current experience/skills in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, chemical-processing, or similar industrial environment with reliable steady attendance. Experience operating mixers, mills, extrusion equipment, or other mechanical production equipment.

Experience following batch cards, work orders, formulas, recipes, or detailed production instructions. Experience completing batch records, production documentation, or electronic manufacturing records. Experience measuring, weighing, mixing, or processing production materials. Familiarity with safe material-handling practices, quality requirements, and manufacturing housekeeping standards. Experience working in a team-based or shift-based production environment. Familiarity with continuous improvement concepts and practices.
