Lab Technician, Tire & Rubber
Summary
Looking to start your career? This technician is an entry-level role that supports technical and operational activities while working under direct supervision. This position is designed for individuals with little to no professional experience and provides an opportunity to develop foundational skills through structured training and hands-on learning. No industry experience needed. Bring your curiosity and drive to learn, and we'll help you build the rest.
Responsibilities Include
- Perform routine technical and operational tasks under direct supervision·
- Carry out weighing, mixing, and curing according to established guidelines.
- Perform all work according to Momentive safety practices based on received training.
- Generate and record appropriate data, including observations, and complete necessary documentation to ensure high quality.
- Collaborate with scientists, other laboratory technicians, and supporting functions.
- Maintain an organized work area and support maintenance on equipment as required.
- Assist in setting up newly acquired equipment to enhance the Rubber Lab mixing and testing.
- Manage administrative tasks such as new vendor registration, supply management, and other required administrative tasks at Charlotte Lab
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
The following are *required* for the role
- 0–2 years of lab industry experience
- 1+ years of general work experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Self-motivated with a can-do attitude, strong work ethic, and results-driven focus, always with safety top of mind
- Quick learner with strong attention to detail and the ability to document experimental results accurately
- Committed to following work instructions and training procedures precisely
- Basic computer proficiency (Excel data entry, MS Office, SharePoint)
- Able to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team
- Solid verbal and written communication skills in English
