Essential Functions
1. Serve as lead researcher on funded research awards and perform research directly supporting the SDLE Research Center’s funded research portfolio, ensuring projects remain on schedule and meet milestones as defined in the scope of work. Record, analyze and present data on all work relevant to the project. Prepare reports on the progress of the program. Mentor and monitor graduate students, undergraduate and high school students on active research projects and maintain a team science environment through a comprehensive understanding of cross-cutting themes and research thrusts across all projects. Participate in project discussions and project planning. (80%) 2.
Lead proposal development to generate new externally-funded research. Coordinate with staff and research collaborators in government, industry, and academia to ensure proposal teaming is comprehensive and sufficiently meets research needs. (13%) 3. Oversee reporting and review for release requirements for supported research awards, coordinating with students and research collaborators to ensure research output, including but not limited to presentations, publications, and proceedings, are reviewed, documented, and disseminated in accordance with best practices and individual award requirements. (5%) Nonessential Functions 1. Perform other duties as assigned.
(2%) In compliance with the City of Cleveland’s Pay Transparency Ordinance (effective October 27, 2025), the annual starting base salary range for this position is $55,000 -$62,652. CWRU considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer. Postdocs receive individual and family healthcare benefits, life insurance, and employee assistance.
