Role details
Position Description NRC-CNRC Canada National Research Council Canada We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher at the National Research Council Canada / uOttawa to lead a project focused on developing an analog quantum simulator platform based on 2D materials. The successful candidate will play a leading role in designing, fabricating, and measuring quantum devices that harness correlated and topological phenomena in low-dimensional systems.
Responsibilities include: Mechanical exfoliation and deterministic dry transfer of 2D materials Assembly of high-quality heterostructures Materials and device characterization using atomic force microscopy and scanning electron microscopy Analysis and interpretation of experimental data Preparation of scientific manuscripts and conference presentations Mentoring graduate students Skills required include: Extensive hands-on experience with cleanroom nanofabrication processes, including electron beam lithography, metal deposition, and reactive ion etching Experience performing electronic transport and photoluminescence measurements in dilution refrigerators at millikelvin temperatures and under high magnetic fields A strong foundation in solid-state physics Experimental independence, creativity in device design, and strong communication skills How to apply: REQUIRED MATERIAL Cover Letter Curriculum Vitae Contact information of two references All the required materials should be submitted to: [email protected].
