Job Description

Purpose: Lead the planning and execution of strategic product initiatives from concept through production, including new product development, product enhancements, and cost reduction efforts for E/One's Sewer System Business. Provide leadership and development for a small engineering team while maintaining active involvement in technical problem solving, product design, and project execution. Serve as a key contributor to the Engineering organization by driving continuous improvement in project execution, engineering processes, and cross-functional collaboration to support ongoing business objectives.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage project scope, schedules, priorities, resources, and risks to ensure successful execution of engineering objectives.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities between Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Operations, and external partners.
  • Develop, review, and approve product designs, engineering documentation, and technical specifications using SolidWorks.
  • Provide technical leadership through design reviews, problem solving, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Lead prototype development, product testing, and validation activities to ensure products meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on component development and review injection mold tooling designs to support product quality and manufacturability.
  • Support engineering change management activities and continuous product improvement efforts.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop assigned engineering and technical personnel, including performance management, hiring support, and employee development.
  • Promote accountability, collaboration, and effective communication within the engineering team and across departments.
  • Drive continuous improvement of project execution, engineering processes, and organizational effectiveness while ensuring compliance with established quality and ISO-based systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering discipline required.
  • Minimum 6 years of product development and engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional engineering projects from concept through production launch.
  • Proficient with solid modeling and engineering product documentation practices.
  • Experience with prototype development, testing, validation, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience managing or leading engineers, technicians, or technical teams preferred.
  • Experience designing plastic components for injection molding applications required.
  • Experience with high-pressure injection molding processes and tooling reviews preferred.
  • Experience with PDM systems, ERP systems, and engineering change management processes preferred.
  • Experience working within ISO-based quality management systems preferred.
  • Pump, fluid handling, wastewater, electromechanical, or industrial product experience preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $111,500 to $125,460 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
