Manufacturing Engineer (Entry Level)

Cambridge Security Seals seeks an entry-level Manufacturing Engineer to support production, continuous improvement, and process engineering at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Pomona, NY. This is an immediate opening for a hands-on engineer who wants to work the floor, solve real production problems, and help drive down cycle time and downtime.

The primary focus of this position is supporting day-to-day production — troubleshooting floor issues, identifying root causes, and helping implement process changes and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time, reduce downtime, and improve quality and throughput. This role will also apply CAD modeling and drafting in SolidWorks to support fixture design, tooling, and production requests for our Automation & Controls and Tooling & Molding teams.

You will work closely with our Automation & Controls and Tooling & Molding teams on the floor, gaining hands-on exposure to production troubleshooting and continuous improvement projects, while also building your CAD and fixture design skills along the way.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Supporting daily production by troubleshooting equipment, process, and quality issues on the floor.
• Identifying root causes of downtime, scrap, and quality issues, and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
• Leading or supporting continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing cycle time, reducing downtime, and improving throughput.
• Evaluating and recommending process changes to improve product quality, increase line uptime, increase throughput, reduce costs, and enhance plant safety.
• Assisting the Automation & Controls and Tooling & Molding teams with fixture design, mechanical troubleshooting, and equipment documentation.
• Performing CAD work in SolidWorks for parts, fixtures, and production tooling.
• Developing, updating, and troubleshooting laser marking and engraving programs for customer part numbering, date coding, and branding.
• Fielding and resolving simple customer engineering requests — drawing revisions, print interpretation, and sample coordination — under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Establishing design criteria, performing design calculations, assisting in materials selection, and developing detailed drawings and product specifications.
• Ensuring compliance with ISO and UL standards, including inspection callouts and associated in-process inspection documentation.
• Documenting processes, procedures, protocols, and training materials for staff and stakeholders.
• Working within multi-discipline project teams to develop drawing and specification documents for issuance to customers, tooling engineers, automation engineers, and maintenance personnel.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field of study (recent graduates welcome to apply).
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills, with a genuine interest in continuous improvement and process engineering.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, including 3D modeling and print generation.
• An understanding of, or strong interest in, plastic injection molding processes, laser marking, and other automated finishing and assembly techniques.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator or similar software for manipulation of logos and artwork
• Functional proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

• This is an on-site position in Rockland County. You must presently live in or have a reasonable daily commute to the Rockland County area. In addition, you must pass initial and random drug testing.

Compensation and Benefits
