📍 Oxford, AL Area | Aerospace Manufacturing $100k-$150K +10% Bonus

Are you a Process Engineer with experience in vacuum investment casting, directional solidification (DS), or single crystal (SX) casting? Our client, a global aerospace manufacturing organization, is seeking a technical leader to own and optimize critical casting processes used in the production of advanced turbine engine components.
This is a highly visible engineering role where you will serve as the primary technical authority for vacuum induction melting (VIM) and DS/SX casting operations, driving process improvements, product quality, and manufacturing excellence within a world-class aerospace foundry environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as process owner for VIM and DS/SX casting operations
- Optimize thermal profiles, withdrawal rates, and solidification parameters
- Drive improvements in casting yield, productivity, and quality
- Investigate and eliminate metallurgical and microstructural defects
- Ensure compliance with aerospace customer requirements and internal process controls
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through statistical analysis and data-driven decision making
- Collaborate with quality, operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve process performance
Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline • 3+ years of engineering experience within a vacuum investment casting environment • Strong understanding of physical metallurgy, solidification kinetics, dendritic growth, and nickel-based superalloys • Experience with vacuum melting, induction furnaces, and high-temperature casting equipment • Familiarity with NDT evaluation, grain structure analysis, crystal orientation measurements, and metallurgical inspections • Experience utilizing Minitab, Excel, and process analysis tools • Aerospace, turbine blade, vane, or superalloy casting experience highly preferred
