Role details
We are seeking a Chemical Engineer to support the development, manufacturing, and continuous improvement of advanced battery products used in aerospace applications. This position is ideal for an engineer with strong knowledge of electrochemical systems and hands-on experience with battery manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, improve, and maintain manufacturing processes for Nickel-Cadmium, Lithium-Ion, and other electrochemical battery systems
- Troubleshoot chemical, material, and production-related issues
- Support new product introductions and the transition of products from engineering into production
- Analyze manufacturing data and recommend improvements to quality, efficiency, yield, and cost
- Develop and maintain process specifications, work instructions, and technical documentation
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, and Design Engineering teams
- Support root-cause investigations and corrective actions
- Ensure processes comply with applicable aerospace, quality, environmental, and safety requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and at least four years of related experience; or equivalent professional experience with processes used to manufacture Nickel-Cadmium, Lithium-Ion, or other related electrochemical systems
- Strong battery product and electrochemical process knowledge
- Experience working in an aerospace, defense, or highly regulated manufacturing environment is preferred
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Detail-oriented, collaborative, and capable of managing multiple priorities
