Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated

Epitaxy Process Manufacturing Engineer

to support manufacturing operations in a high-volume 300 mm wafer fabrication environment. This role will focus on process improvement, equipment and process startup, production support, yield enhancement, and manufacturing ramp activities.

The ideal candidate is energetic, self-directed, analytical, and passionate about developing reliable processes and procedures. This position offers the opportunity to drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations while working in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing operations in a high-interruption and rapidly ramping tool-installation environment.
  • Develop and implement improved manufacturing methods, procedures, and processes.
  • Drive improvements in efficiency, yield, equipment operation, quality, cost, and cycle time.
  • Implement improvement plans and projects involving:
  • Efficiency improvements
  • Cost-reduction initiatives
  • Quality-improvement programs
  • New-product support
  • Process optimization
  • Perform lot and equipment dispositions to maintain production flow and minimize cycle time.
  • Support operations in a high-volume 300 mm wafer fabrication environment.
  • Identify systematic issues related to process or equipment performance.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, sources of variation, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Communicate findings, recommendations, and recurring issues to engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Support manufacturing ramp activities, including equipment and process startup.
  • Execute process experiments and structured engineering studies.
  • Participate in root-cause investigations and problem-resolution activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering, equipment, manufacturing, quality, and other functional teams to address fab priorities.
  • Help establish, improve, and maintain effective operating procedures and process controls.
  • Seek feedback, honor commitments, take initiative, and drive projects to completion.
  • Adapt quickly to changing production needs and business priorities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • At least five years of relevant engineering or semiconductor manufacturing experience.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, process engineering, equipment engineering, or production operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze technical problems and implement practical solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects on schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with epitaxy processes.
  • Experience with ASM epitaxy systems is strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of front-end-of-line integration as it relates to epitaxy processing.
  • Strong foundation in statistical process control.
  • Knowledge of engineering change control and process-release strategies.
  • Experience supporting equipment installation, process startup, or manufacturing ramp activities.
  • Proficiency with Python, AI-assisted engineering tools, or other data-analysis technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience with yield improvement, process optimization, or equipment-performance improvement.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to build effective and influential relationships across technical and operational teams.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership, drive results, and work independently.

Work Environment

This position requires regular onsite work in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing facility. The role may involve supporting production issues, equipment installations, process experiments, and manufacturing ramp activities in a cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environment.

Candidates must be comfortable working with rapidly changing priorities, frequent interruptions, and cross-functional teams to maintain production continuity and improve manufacturing performance.
