Role Description

The Assistant Professor of Chemistry is a full-time, on-site position located in Huntsville, TX. Day-to-day responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate chemistry courses and mentoring students in classroom and laboratory settings. The role involves conducting and publishing scholarly research, seeking external funding when appropriate, and supervising student research projects. The faculty member will participate in departmental and university service, including committee work and academic advising. Collaboration with colleagues across disciplines and contribution to the broader academic community are integral parts of this position.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Physical, Inorganic, or related or multidisciplinary areas of chemistry, with the ability to teach core and specialized courses in these areas.
  • Proven Research skills, including a record or clear potential for peer-reviewed publications and pursuing external funding.
  • Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Chemistry or a closely related field by the time of appointment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to departmental, college, and university service.
  • Previous teaching experience at the college level and mentoring of student research are highly desirable.
