Job Summary

Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) invites applications for a full-time Lecturer of Chemistry position beginning August 1, 2027. The successful candidate will report to the Chair of the Department of Chemistry.

Primary responsibilities will be teaching a variety of undergraduate chemistry courses, including principles of chemistry (general chemistry) for science majors, survey of chemistry for nursing/allied health majors and physical science for non-science majors. A typical teaching load is three 4-credit courses per semester.

Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate education, innovative teaching practices, and meaningful student engagement inside and outside the classroom. Opportunities for professional development, pedagogical innovation and participation in departmental initiatives will be available.

The Department of Chemistry seeks candidates with experience working with undergraduate students and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for all students. Faculty at GGC receive support from departmental mentors, access to instructional resources, and opportunities to engage in curricular development and student success initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Applicants should hold an M.S. or higher in Chemistry or a closely related field on or before the semester of the start date and a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours within the discipline

Preferred Qualifications

College-level teaching experience in laboratory-based chemistry courses
