The Department of Chemistry at New York University (NYU) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the area of Bioorganic Chemistry/Chemical Biology , broadly defined. Particular attention will be given to candidates whose research applies innovative approaches in organic chemistry to address significant questions at the chemistry-biology interface. The successful applicant is anticipated to be appointed at the Assistant Professor level. Successful candidates must have a Ph.D. in chemistry or related field and demonstrate the potential to do pioneering research and teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The Department of Chemistry is continuing a significant growth plan, including the recent creation of the Chemical Biology Center, Simons Center for Computational Physical Chemistry, and the addition of numerous senior and junior faculty members. Interested faculty are able to participate in significant interdisciplinary programs within the Washington Square campus, as well as with NYU’s engineering and medical schools, and scholarly activities at its campuses in Shanghai and Abu Dhabi.

Candidates should submit a curriculum vita e, a detailed description of research plans and interests, and a statement of teaching experience and interests. The teaching statement may reflect plans to create an inclusive teaching and research mentoring environment. The application should also include three letters of recommendation.
