Manufacturing Engineer, Bonding

Castelion is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the development of the solid rocket motor systems required for the design and build of long-range hypersonic strike vehicles. This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Torrance, CA facility

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will work closely with our engineering teams to execute highly technical solid rocket motor builds for our research vehicles, assist in advancing designs, overseeing site maintenance and upgrades, and play a critical role in defining and maturing manufacturing, assembly and integration processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead day to day production and process optimization of bonded assemblies across all Castelion products.
• Develop process and factory design to transition from development to production rates of 1000s of units per year.
• Develop and refine process documentation including build instructions, test procedures, safety standards, and mBOMs.
• Create, maintain and communicate detailed plans and schedules
• Work closely with supply chain to develop new and existing suppliers
• Design and validate tooling
• Participate in design reviews to drive design for manufacturing (DFM)

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
• 2+ years of manufacturing, fabrication, assembly or testing experience

or heavy involvement in extra-curricular design teams at the university level.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience in aerospace manufacturing.
• Experience with Bonding using RTVs and Epoxies
• Experience with NX/Teamcenter CAD/PDM
• Hands on experience in vacuum bagging, materials and process development.
• Experience in transitioning development process to production

Physical Demands
