DRE - Structure Sealing

Role details

Position Summary

Responsible for the design, development, validation, and production release of body-structure sealing systems for Stellantis vehicle programs. The role ensures total vehicle protection against water ingress, dust intrusion, air leakage, corrosion, and acoustic noise throughout the vehicle product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Material & Application Release: Develop and release body sealers, structural adhesives, mastics, pressure-sensitive tapes, plugs, acoustic baffles, and expandable foams.
• Path Definition: Define sealing strategies for body joints, hem flanges, weld seams, closures, underbody interfaces, and potential leak avenues.
• Cross-Functional Design: Collaborate with BIW, Closures, NVH, Materials Engineering, Manufacturing, and Tier-1 material suppliers.
• Validation Oversight: Coordinate physical water-leak testing, dust chamber tests, air-leakage measurements, corrosion resistance trials, and vehicle durability testing.
• Assembly Support: Manage supplier dispensing trial runs, nozzle tooling readiness, prototype vehicle builds, and plant containment/root-cause analysis.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, or Automotive Engineering.
• Experience: 3–5 years of experience in body sealing, BIW, closures, automotive materials, or product development.
• Material Expertise: Detailed knowledge of automotive sealers, structural adhesives, mastics, acoustic foams, and anti-corrosion treatments.
• Systems & Processes: Experience with DFMEA, DVP&R, GD&T, NX/CATIA, and Teamcenter PLM.
