About the Role
A growing beverage business is seeking a Senior Packaging Engineer to lead primary packaging development for ready-to-drink products. This role focuses on aluminum cans, glass bottles, and PET multiserve bottles, from material selection and design through production scale-up.
Responsibilities
- Develop and improve beverage packaging for product quality, shelf stability, cost, and manufacturability.
- Select and test materials, components, closures, and labels; maintain packaging specifications.
- Support packaging scale-up and troubleshoot production issues involving can seams, glass, PET bottles, closures, and labels.
- Partner with Product Development, Quality, Supply Chain, Production, and packaging suppliers.
- Keep current with packaging technologies, food-contact requirements, and industry standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of packaging engineering experience in beverage, food, or consumer goods.
- Hands-on experience with aluminum cans, glass bottles, and PET bottles.
- Knowledge of can seaming, filling and capping, stretch blow molding, closures, and high-speed packaging lines.
- Familiarity with quality tools such as SPC, FMEA, or PPAP.
- Strong project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
