What to Expect

Tesla is looking for a highly motivated, talented and team-oriented R&D cell engineering technician to work on preparation of battery electrodes and cells in order to support dry electrode process optimization and development for lithium-ion batteries. The successful candidate will be part of cell development team and take direction from engineers and assist cell evaluation and development led by engineers. This position will be 100% hands-on work in R&D laboratory.

What You'll Do

• Process and prepare powders and battery electrodes
• Document material handling and electrode preparations with the use of travelers and SOP documents and input into database system
• Assist or carry out operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment including procurement of cell components
• Communicate work with team and report technical results and status of work to supervisor/manager

What You'll Bring

• 1+ years of work experience in a hands-on technical position in R&D laboratory environment
• Work experience related to battery electrodes, chemical and powders handling, and cell component process and prototype Li-ion cell fabrication is a plus
• Must be familiar with MS Window and Office software
• Able to document travelers, test results and SOP using MS office program
• Able to work in moisture controlled dry room environment
• Very good communication skills enabling to work with cross-functional teams
• Ability to comprehend direction and execute technical experiment with minor supervision to assist engineer
• Able to interpret requirements into planned direction and execution
• Ability to move in the direction of the team and propel the progress with strong support and execution of job responsibilities is necessary

Expected Compensation

$23.18 - $62.13/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
