What to Expect

As a Manufacturing Engineer, PCBA at Tesla, you will lead the development of innovative manufacturing processes and technologies to produce high-quality power modules, driving the future of sustainable energy.

What You'll Do

• Develop new manufacturing processes and technologies for power module packaging and assembly
• Collaborate with design to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) solutions and seamless integration of product design and manufacturing processes
• Conduct research and analysis to identify and implement new manufacturing processes and materials
• Design, execute, and analyze experiments to validate process assumptions, understand process interactions, and optimize process conditions
• Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues related to power module assembly, including equipment, process, and material-related problems
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including process specifications, work instructions, and training materials

What You'll Bring

• 1-2 years of experience in power electronics module assembly and manufacturing, with a strong understanding of product design and assembly interaction
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing module packaging processes, including soldering, wire bonding, encapsulation, adhesives, and other relevant technologies
• Experience with process development, optimization, and control, including statistical process control (SPC) and design of experiments (DOE)
• Proven experience in automated manufacturing equipment, installation, qualification, characterization, and meeting manufacturing targets
• Proficiency in CAD tools and six sigma principles, with a strong analytical and problem-solving mindset

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience

Expected Compensation

$91,600 - $195,600/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
