Role Description

The Director of Product Development & Commercialization is a full-time, on-site role based in Brooklyn, NY. This position leads the end-to-end product lifecycle, from concept and research through development, testing, launch, and post-launch optimization for Pacron®’s protective packaging portfolio. Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing cross-functional product roadmaps, guiding R&D efforts, coordinating with operations, sales, and marketing to align products with market needs, and driving commercialization strategies for new and existing solutions.

The director will analyze market trends, customer feedback, and performance data to identify growth opportunities and refine product offerings. This role also includes managing and mentoring a product team, establishing clear performance metrics, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality and sustainability standards.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret market data, product performance metrics, and customer insights.
  • Proven experience in Research and Development (R&D), particularly in materials, packaging, or related manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated Product Management expertise, including roadmap creation, lifecycle management, and commercialization strategies.
  • Track record of effective Team Leadership and collaboration across engineering, operations, sales, and marketing functions.
  • Hands-on Product Development experience, from concept validation and prototyping to testing, certification, and launch.
  • Background in packaging, materials science, manufacturing, or industrial products is highly beneficial.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, product management, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives.
  • Experience implementing sustainable product solutions and familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
