Blome International Polymers is seeking a hands-on quality professional to support our quality assurance program and laboratory operations. We are considering candidates for one of two employment arrangements based on their location (see location & initial assignment section below).
The ideal candidate will have experience with paints, industrial coatings, protective linings, adhesives, polymers, or similar formulated chemical products. Experience with an ISO 9001 quality management system is highly preferred.
LOCATION & INITIAL ASSIGNMENT
- We are considering candidates for one of two employment arrangements based on their location:Massachusetts-based candidates: Temporary, full-time position based in Pembroke, MA, with an expected end date of December 31, 2027.
- Missouri-based candidates: Full-time role with an initial 12- to 18-month assignment supporting the Pembroke, MA plant. The anticipated schedule is approximately two weeks per month in Pembroke, MA and two weeks per month in O'Fallon, MO subject to business needs.
LOCATION & INITIAL ASSIGNMENT
- Manage or support Duromar's ISO 9001 quality management system.
- Perform incoming, in-process, and finished-product laboratory testing.
- Review batch records, laboratory results, and product-release documentation.
- Investigate nonconforming materials and support root-cause and corrective-action activities.
- Maintain procedures, specifications, controlled records, and calibrated equipment; support manufacturing, formulation, troubleshooting, audits, and product improvement.
DESIRED LABORATORY EXPERIENCE
- Viscosity, rheology, specific gravity, and density testing
- Gel time, working life, cure time, and thin-film dry-time evaluation
- Solids, mixing-ratio, composition, and formulation calculations
- Tensile, flexural, compressive, adhesion, or other mechanical-property testing
- ATR-FTIR or KBr FTIR; elemental, compositional, or thermal analysis; and evaluation of cured polymers and coated panels
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, polymer science, materials science, chemical engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Substantial relevant laboratory or quality experience may be considered in place of a degree.
- Experience with paints, coatings, linings, adhesives, composites, or thermoset polymers is strongly preferred.
- Strong laboratory documentation, analytical, organizational, and computer skills, with the ability to work safely in laboratory and chemical-manufacturing environments.
