Position Summary
Venturous Truck Tops is a manufacturer of fiberglass truck covers has an opening for a Product Engineer. The Product Engineer (PE) reports to the COO and performs vital functions including the creation of better and more efficient ways to manufacture our products, which involves techniques, processes, and procedures. In all phases of manufacturing, however, the engineer’s main goal is the same: continuous improvement of product quality and labor efficiency.
A successful result requires a broad knowledge of equipment and tools and the ability to effect change through influence. The work of a PE is often hands-on, interacting with shop floor personnel to ensure that improvement plans are created and implemented.
Responsibilities
● Design new concepts, evaluates and implements existing concepts and best-in-class manufacturing techniques
● Identify new mold design techniques
● Identify manufacturing cost reduction opportunities and reduce manufacturing process cost
● Optimize manufacturing processes to reach product quality, efficiency, and process repeatability
● Ensure solutions achieve required product quality levels, reliability, and consistency
● Develop work standards and line balancing for productivity
● Identify manufacturing cost reductions
● Optimize workflow and cell designs for shop throughput
● Lead value stream mapping exercises to determine and record business improvement areas
● Develop and implement project plans to achieve Future State
● Support the development of manufacturing processes for new product introductions
● Support the development of tooling and maintenance and repair of tooling
● Support the improvement of Environmental, Health and Safety systems and processes
● All other relevant responsibilities that are related to the PE role
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in industrial, mechanical, or electrical engineering or
Experience in fiberglass, plastics, molded structures, or component management
Strong leadership skills
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
