Global Technical Support Manager, Protective & Marine Coatings

PPG is seeking a Global Technical Support Manager to lead the delivery of high-quality, responsive technical support within PMC Protective. This role is critical in ensuring best-in-class customer support for complex and high-value projects, strengthening customer relationships, and supporting business growth through technical excellence and agility. This role is open to a remote location; We are seeking highly technical field knowledge in the PMC product line.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate cross-regional technical support efforts, ensuring seamless collaboration, knowledge sharing, and alignment with regional and local technical support teams across geographies Provide timely and accurate technical support to global customers, KAM teams, and internal stakeholders Support complex projects and applications, including FPSO/FLNG, infrastructure, and industrial segments Review and contribute to owner and EPC specifications, ensuring alignment with test data and real-world performance Prepare technical statements, reports, and guarantee support documentation Deliver technical presentations and workshops to customers, Owners, and EPCs Support specialized system selection based on application requirements Act as a key interface between Product Management, Engineering, R&D, and regional teams Provide technical support to Global Product Managers and contribute to product development Ensure availability and communication of standards, certifications, and test data Manage a high volume of global technical requests , prioritizing critical and complex inquiries Business Impact Strengthens customer confidence and long-term relationships Drives project specification wins and successful execution Enhances PPG’s competitive differentiation through responsiveness and expertise Supports business protection and growth in key accounts globally Key Competencies Strong technical expertise and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and customer-facing abilities High level of responsiveness and accountability Ability to work across global, cross-functional teams Strong organizational and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment Qualifications Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field Strong experience in Protective & Marine coatings or comparable industries, Strong business acumen Proven background in technical support, project engineering, or specification management Experience with complex global projects (e.g., Marine, EPC-driven environments) preferred Knowledge of industry standards, certifications, and testing protocols.
