As the Senior Staff Stress Analyst, your duties will include the responsibility for performing stress analysis of flight hardware in support of the Orion program to meet program requirements and deadlines, collaborating with vendors and customers, and supporting the production and verification of the Orion vehicle. Other duties may include:

• Mentor and train IC1 to IC4 Stress Analysts
• Perform technical reviews of vendor and internal Stress Analysis Reports
• Coordinate with Systems Engineering on verification tasks
• Coordinate with Loads & Dynamics on component and structures environments
• Support manufacturing & test anomaly/discrepancy investigations

Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.

Basic Qualifications

------------------------

• A bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or civil engineering or equivalent
• Expertise in stress analysis, statics and dynamics
• Experience performing stress analysis for NASA’s Orion program
• Knowledge of human rated structural verification requirements
• Proven experience delivering structural analysis reports to certify a human rated spacecraft
• Experience performing analysis of composite structures
• Experience with NASA’s Fracture Control system

• Experience developing advanced technological ideas and guiding their development into a final product
• Hardware experience, including design, analysis, assembly, Integration and Test
• Proven experience performing stress analysis of Orion’s Launch Abort System
• Knowledgeable of, and possesses experience with, NASA’s Artemis Program components and organizational structure
• Experience supporting proof and acceptance testing of composite hardware to meet Orion program requirements
• Experience using FEMAP, NASTRAN, and NASGRO
• Experience using EPDM Windchill
• Excellent verbal/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences.

GeoZone Definition: GeoZones are geographic groupings created by Lockheed Martin to align compensation ranges with regional labor markets and cost-of-labor differences across the United States. Locations are assigned a Geo Zone based on the primary work location of the role.

• Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 1): $161300.00 - $299500.00
• Includes metropolitan areas such as Sunnyvale CA; Pal Alto, CA; New York City metropolitan area; Newark, New Jersey; etc.
• Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 2): $145100.00 - $269500.00
• Includes metropolitan areas such as Denver, CO; King of Prussia, PA; Stratford, CT; Moorestown, NJ; etc.
• Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 3): $129000.00 - $239600.00
• Includes metropolitan areas such as Dallas–Fort Worth, TX; Orlando, FL; Grand Prairie, TX; Marietta, GA; etc.
• Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 4): $116100.00 - $215700.00
• Includes metropolitan areas such as Camden, AR; Lexington, KY; Lufkin, TX; etc.
