THE ROLE

In this role, you will help develop future generations of E Ink products for new applications in emerging markets. You will be directly involved in hands-on research building and testing devices with potential to work on glass lamination process development as well as heat management of E Ink system. This position will require someone who is creative and eager to learn as well as a good communicator.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Failure Analysis after Reliability Testing (e.g., high-temperature storage, thermal cycling)
  • Characterize defects, delamination, discoloration, or material degradation using analytical tools such as optical microscopy, cross-sectional analysis
  • Support the design, screening, and optimization of barrier materials and edge-seal formulations (e.g., UV-curable adhesives, epoxy systems, desiccants) to prevent moisture ingress.
  • Document process windows, dispense parameters, and tooling/fixture recommendations for prototype fabrication.
  • Communicate data analysis findings effectively and share summaries and conclusions with team members

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years education in a BS program in chemical engineering, chemistry, physical science or related fields
  • GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Practical experience in a wet chemistry laboratory setting
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Curiosity and a desire to understand and solve problems
  • Committed to following safe laboratory practices

Preferences

  • Desire to build things and understand how they work
  • Interest and/or experience with building functional devices
  • Knowledge of statistical tools such as JMP

COMPENSATION DISCLOSURE

The pay rate range for this position is $25 to $35 an hour, not including any variable pay. The pay range for this position reflects a reasonable estimate at the time of posting and may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
