Role details
Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track faculty position in Semiconductor Engineering at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor, Associate Teaching Professor, or Teaching Professor, depending on qualifications and experience.
Missouri S&T is expanding its educational programs and workforce development efforts in semiconductors and microelectronics and seeks an exceptional educator committed to excellence in undergraduate engineering education. The successful candidate will join a growing interdisciplinary program and contribute to preparing the next generation of semiconductor professionals through classroom, laboratory, and experiential learning.
We welcome applicants whose academic, industrial, and/or national laboratory experience aligns with the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem, including fabrication processes, device development, process integration, packaging, characterization, and simulation.
The successful candidate will:
- Teach undergraduate courses in semiconductor engineering and related areas.
- Develop and deliver lecture, laboratory, and project-based learning experiences.
- Support instructional laboratories focused on semiconductor materials, manufacturing processes, device fabrication, characterization, packaging, and testing.
- Contribute to curriculum development, assessment, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Advise and mentor undergraduate students.
- Collaborate with faculty colleagues, staff, and industry partners to support educational initiatives and workforce development programs.
- Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities.
About the Program
Missouri S&T's Semiconductor Engineering program is jointly supported by the Material Science & Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, and Doshi Chemical & Biochemical Engineering departments. The Semiconductor Engineering program provides students with a strong foundation in semiconductor materials, manufacturing processes, device technologies, modeling and simulation, packaging, and emerging microelectronic systems. A hallmark of the program is hands-on learning through laboratory experiences and engagement with modern semiconductor fabrication and characterization facilities.
The program seeks to prepare graduates for careers across the semiconductor ecosystem. As a result, the successful candidate should bring both technical depth and a broad understanding of contemporary semiconductor manufacturing practices.
