What to Expect

Tesla is seeking a Quality Engineering Technician to ensure in-process products meet quality requirements and specifications. This person will be responsible for identifying quality issues within the manufacturing environment, supporting investigations and root cause analysis, collecting relevant process and product data, as well as managing non-conforming material. This person will work closely with Production and Engineering teams to maintain rapid response and to drive continuous improvements to the production process.

What You'll Do

• Conduct inspections and tests on incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards
• Document inspection and testing results accurately, maintaining detailed records of findings, and reporting any deviations from standards to relevant stakeholders
• Work closely with the quality/process engineering teams to identify areas for process improvement and support root cause analysis of quality issues, containing suspect products, sorting defective products and corrective actions and preventive actions (CAPA)
• Lead and/or support with successful completion of engineering trials, new lines or equipment validations
• Create and maintain quality instructions, alerts, and audit plans
• Provide training to quality technicians on inspection techniques, quality issues and corrective actions, and troubleshooting processes as required

What You'll Bring

• Degree in Engineering Technology, Quality Assurance, or a related field (Bachelor’s Degree preferred)
• Minimum level 3 Quality Tech or at least 4-5 years of experience in quality control or quality engineering
• Strong knowledge of quality standards, inspection techniques, and testing methods
• Proficient with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, Keyence and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze and interpret data accurately
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and other quality data analysis techniques a plus

Expected Compensation

$30.50 - $58.33/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
