  • Develop appropriate test plans and test methods to evaluate product design, performance, and quality.
  • Analyze testing results and partner with appropriate teams to resolve quality and engineering issues.
  • Identify and recommend product or process improvements that can reduce cost, improve quality, and maximize production efficiency.
  • Support the transition of new designs from engineering into manufacturing.
  • Serve as an engineering liaison with vendors and customers on technical and project-related matters.
  • Travel to suppliers and vendors as needed to discuss designs, resolve technical issues, and support project requirements.
  • Support Pelican’s commitment to Quality, Safety, and continuous improvement throughout the product development process.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–5 years of product design and project management experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Strong theoretical and practical understanding of mechanical engineering and product design concepts.
  • Experience supporting products from initial design and development through manufacturing.
  • Basic proficiency with 3D solid modeling CAD software.
  • Ability to manage multiple engineering projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop creative and practical engineering solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional product development teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented approach with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to vendors to address technical and project-related requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
  • Experience using SolidWorks.
  • Experience designing consumer products, particularly low-cost, high-volume, high-quality products.
  • Experience with injection-molded plastics, including plastic part design, materials, tooling, and assembly methods.
  • Experience contributing to cross-functional product development teams responsible for delivering projects on time and within budget.

Additional Information
