Looking for a job to get you out of bed? The Product Design & Development Coordinator will support the end-to-end development of sleep products, from concept to production, by translating design ideas into technical specifications, managing product data, and ensuring alignment across teams and suppliers. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate documentation, reviewing samples for quality and consistency, and tracking timelines and deliverables to keep projects on schedule.

Including mattresses, pillows, and bedding, our entire collection is dreamed up and engineered in-house by our product and design teams. Sleepers can shop online, visit one of our 40+ retail locations across the United States, or find us through a growing network of trusted retail partners.

This is a hybrid role, requiring that you work 3 days per week from our NYC office.

When youʼre not catching zzzʼs, this is what youʼll do...

Product Design & Development Support

  • Assist in the design and development of mattresses, pillows, sheets, bed frames, and foundations
  • Translate design concepts into detailed technical packages for supplier execution
  • Support material selection, construction details, and product specifications

Technical Documentation & PLM Management

  • Create, update, and maintain accurate tech packs and product specifications
  • Own and manage product data within Centric PLM, ensuring all information is current, complete, and organized
  • Track revisions, approvals, and product changes throughout the development lifecycle

Sample Review & Quality Feedback

  • Review development and production samples for accuracy against specifications
  • Provide clear, actionable feedback and comments to suppliers
  • Partner with design and sourcing teams to ensure product quality and intent are maintained

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with design, sourcing, merchandising, production, and quality teams
  • Communicate updates, risks, and timelines effectively across stakeholders
  • Support alignment between internal teams and external suppliers

Project & Process Support

  • Assist in managing the end-to-end product development process from concept through production
  • Track timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure projects stay on schedule
  • Identify and help mitigate risks related to development, sourcing, or production

Our Dream Candidate Is/has

  • 2-5+ years of experience in product development, design, or technical design (mattress, bedding, or furniture experience a plus)
  • Experience creating tech packs and working with overseas suppliers
  • High level of proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and InDesign
  • Familiarity with PLM systems (Centric PLM strongly preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of textiles, foam, or furniture construction
  • Experience in bedding or home goods categories
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
  • Proficiency in Solidworks

Targeted Annual Base Salary Range: $75,000-85,000 USD

Casper’s compensation philosophy ensures that the actual base salary is based on factors including but not limited to skills, education, experience, special training, time in position, and/or years of service.
