What to Expect

Tesla’s Collision Repair department is looking for someone to join the Collision Repair Validation Team in supporting refinish operations for collision repair centers around the world.

This position is based at our Fremont, CA. Collision Repair Headquarters and serves to review, perform, and provide feedback on refinish operations. As a validation technician, you’ll be performing refinish operations, validating repair center tooling, and investigating issues on the path to new repair techniques.

What You'll Do

• Perform refinish operations on Tesla Vehicles
• Provide feedback to development team for optimizations
• Creating Flat Rate Times for estimating platforms
• Validate and test refinish equipment, i.e. Spray gun, paint booths, air sanders, sanding blocks, and Collision related tooling etc.
• Validate and test operations consistent with collision repair; Preparation, Sealing, Spraying, and paint correction: Prepare color tint to match paint color, mix paint colors and top coating
• Presenting refinish operations results to various teams for review and approval
• Maintain a clean and organized paint shop; includes cleaning of work area, maintaining and ordering of parts, tools, equipment, and consumables used to perform validations

What You'll Bring

• Vocational certificate in collision repair, preferred
• 5+ years experience refinishing cars in an automotive collision repair environment utilizing urethane based refinish systems, Tesla experience preferred
• High proficiency in written and spoken English
• Strong computer skills
• Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
• Ability to work independently in limited supervision environments

Expected Compensation

$33.60 - $60.00/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
