Role details

The Rubber Group is looking to add to our Engineering team. We are looking for a Product and Mold Engineer at our Laconia, NH plant.

The Product and Mold Engineer designs molds and auxiliary equipment for manufacturing. Coordinates the Engineering Departments activities to maintain product quality and productivity. Manages the Test Lab schedule, set up and the implementation of tests. Provides processing assistance.

Essential/Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plans and formulates engineering projects as part of the Project Implementation Team and organizes project requirements.
  • Plans project timing as part of the engineering team.
  • Directs and coordinates tooling fabrication activities with in-house tool room and outside machine shops to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
  • Produces and sketches working drawings of tooling and customer products.
  • Involved with activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems.
  • Coordinates operation, maintenance and repair activities to obtain optimum utilization of molds and auxiliary equipment.
  • Evaluates and performs design changes to drawings.
  • Coordinates and performs new tooling sample activities.
  • Confers with customers as necessary.
  • Designs and performs product tests to customer specifications.
  • Uses data provided by other departments to solve production issues.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on molds running.
  • Following all safety requirements, safety policy and company policy, report any observed violation to the superior or hazardous situation to the Safety Committee
  • Fostering and encouraging safe practices on the shop floor
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years rubber process experience
  • Thorough understanding of molding methods (compression, transfer, injection, over molding)
  • Knowledge of rubber to metal bonding techniques and troubleshooting
  • Solid modeling experience preferred – ideally SolidWorks
  • High School or equivalent
  • BS in Engineering Curriculum or equivalent.
  • Must possess the ability to complete geometric and algebraic formulas.
  • Must be able to work with other departments, but not limited to: Quality, operations, maintenance and technical. Must be able to effectively communicate with all groups to coordinate projects/tasks.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
