An exciting opportunity has arisen for a
Extrusion Blow
Moulding Optimisation Engineer
on a full-time basis working days, 39 hours per week.
Reporting to the EBM/IM Production Manager and working alongside the Production Team, this role involves optimisation and improvement of production processes and procedures within the moulding department.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Troubleshooting
- Lead investigations and resolve complex moulding issues.
- Support technicians to achieve target cycle times, quality, and productivity.
- Develop robust process settings.
- Reduce scrap, customer complaints, and process variation.
- Support new product developments to achieve production targets.
- Conduct and monitor machine servicing and performance.
- Assist production with technical support and critical thinking skills.
Training & Development
- Create and deliver structured training/refresher training programmes for technicians.
- Assess competency and develop individual training plans.
- Coach teams on moulding principles.
- Develop work instructions and risk assessments.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve OEE, quality, efficiency, and waste reduction.
- Collaborate in root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methods.
- Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Standardise best practice across machinery, servicing, and team performance.
You Will
- Have a minimum of 3 years moulding experience in one or more of the following processes: Injection Stretch Blow Moulding, Extrusion Blow Moulding, or Injection Moulding.
- Possess excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Can deliver training and assess training requirements.
- Be honest, dependable, and accountable.
- Be diligent with a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
- Conscientious with a sharp eye for detail and a pride for delivering excellence consistently.
