Job Summary

We are looking for a collaborative, talented, and experienced analytical chemistry professional to join our analytical department at Adesis. The successful candidate will perform analysis to characterize pharmaceutical and Polymer materials, intermediates, and final compounds.

This position may be filled as an Analytical Chemist or Research Scientist. The final title and level will be determined based on the selected candidate’s education, relevant industry experience, and demonstrated technical capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze samples using HPLC, UPLC, Chiral LC, GPC, LC/MS, HRMS, GC, GC headspace and GC/MS techniques.
  • Prepare and analyze samples using NMR, Understanding of NMR data processing.
  • Perform instrument maintenance, repair and calibration activities as needed.
  • Perform documentation of analytical work per company procedures.
  • Process data and compile analytical data packages.
  • Review analytical data packages, determine data matches proposed structure and report results.
  • Manage multiple projects and test requirements simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and tight deadlines.
  • Provide analytical support to projects in process development and manufacturing.
  • Work closely with chemistry teams to develop innovative approaches to address specific challenges in sample analysis, method development and structural elucidation.
  • Author and review SOPs, test methods, protocols, and reports.
  • Store and archive analytical data according to company procedures.
  • Coordinate with other functional areas to advance projects in development.
  • Strictly follow company policies, SOPs, and safety standards.
  • Train new chemists on the use of analytical equipment.
  • Help maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, or related discipline or Master’s Degree in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related discipline with at least 2-5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Proven capability, experience and knowledge of mass spectroscopy and chromatography to solve complex analytical problems, Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation, method development and execution (HPLC, LC/MS, GC/MS)
  • Strong understanding of instrument hardware and software, and experience in
  • maintenance and troubleshooting. Experience in performing instrument calibrations.
  • An effective collaborator with the ability to work both independently and in a cross-functional team to deliver on complex objectives.
  • Understanding of technical problem solving, innovative research experience, and demonstrated ability to communicate scientific concepts through publications, patents, presentations, or other professional/scientific achievements.
  • Excellent scientific communication skills (written and oral), demonstrated creativity, and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Desire and ability to learn new concepts outside of core expertise and training.
  • Good multi-tasking, record keeping, organization, and communication skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary and team-oriented environment.
  • Experience in sample preparation techniques for qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Experience in stability testing and data trending.
  • Strong understanding of sample workflow from submission to reporting.
  • Experience working in a cGMP environment is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of good documentation practices and data integrity requirements.
  • Experience in handling multiple projects and test requirements, data compilation, review,
  • and report writing.
  • Collaborate with and mentor peers as well as effectively interact with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience in LCMS, GCMS, Headspace GC (residual solvents), Chiral LC, XRPD, DSC, TGA and GPC techniques preferred.
  • Experience in using ELN and LIMS.

Annual compensation range: $75k-110k

At Adesis Inc., base pay is one part of our total compensation package. Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
