Job Description

Research and Development (R&D) at Procter & Gamble, the largest consumer packaged goods company in the world, includes a diverse group of roles that contribute to the innovation and development of our products. It encompasses roles in product research, formulation, testing, and scientific analysis. You will find variety and excitement starting Day 1.

The Opportunity:

P&G has an opportunity for a Scientist in Baby, Feminine, and Family Care (BFF) Analytical, with focused support for Feminine Care priorities. BFF Analytical delivers measurable business outcomes through scientific leadership, advanced analytical methods, and data-driven decision-making. As a Scientist in our R&D organization, you will help translate consumer, product, and business questions into fit-for-purpose experiments, consumer-relevant measurement methods, and scientifically sound recommendations.

This role combines hands-on laboratory work, data analysis, and collaborative problem solving. You will build proficiency in analytical and measurement science while connecting fluid behavior, material properties, product design, manufacturing variation, and relevant use conditions. The ideal candidate demonstrates learning agility, attention to detail, strong scientific judgment, and clear communication, with an interest in using programming, automation, modeling, image and data analysis, or visualization to improve experimental efficiency and technical learning.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

+ Support measurement work for Feminine Care and other BFF priorities by translating consumer, product, or business questions into experiments and analyses with guidance from experienced scientists.

+ Execute and improve fluid-management methods that quantify acquisition, distribution, retention, rewet, and leakage performance under relevant use conditions, documenting procedures and results in accordance with laboratory standards.

+ Collect, organize, analyze, and interpret fluid, chemical, materials, image, or product-performance data; identify trends, data-quality issues, and questions requiring further investigation.

+ Participate in method development, validation, troubleshooting, digitization, and transfer activities, including laboratory automation, programming, statistical analysis, modeling, image and data analysis, or visualization as appropriate.

+ Collaborate with BFF Analytical colleagues and cross-functional partners in Product Research, Product Development, Modeling, Process & Engineering, Product Supply, and Commercial functions to execute measurement plans and contribute scientific evidence to product and process decisions.

+ Maintain safe, organized, and compliant laboratory practices while following applicable procedures, data-integrity expectations, stewardship requirements, and quality systems.

+ Build technical capability through coaching, feedback, literature review, training, and hands-on experience, progressively taking ownership of defined technical tasks or workstreams.

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications

+ Education: Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physical Sciences, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field.

+ Laboratory and analytical foundation: Demonstrated ability to conduct laboratory experiments, maintain accurate records, and interpret scientific data through doctoral research, internships, or related experience.

+ Scientific problem solving: Ability to apply scientific fundamentals to defined problems, recognize unexpected results, seek guidance when appropriate, and draw well-supported conclusions from available evidence.

+ Communication and collaboration: Clear written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with the ability to explain methods, results, and limitations to technical and cross-functional partners.

+ Execution: Demonstrated learning agility, attention to detail, collaboration, and ability to deliver assigned work against defined priorities and timelines while following safety, quality, stewardship, and data-integrity requirements.

+ Location: Ability to work on-site at P&G’s Mason Business & Innovation Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, as required for laboratory-based work 4-5 days per week.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Relevant technical experience: Exposure to method development and validation, materials characterization, fluid or transport phenomena, porous or absorbent materials, or consumer-relevant measurement.

+ Data and digital tools: Experience with experimental design, statistics, programming, laboratory automation, image and data analysis, data visualization, modeling, chemometrics, or machine learning.

+ Technical storytelling: Ability to integrate complex analytical findings into clear, decision-oriented scientific narratives.
