About The Role

Green Eagle is seeking a Senior R&D Engineer to help lead the development of new materials, products, and manufacturing technologies while providing technical leadership and hands-on engineering support to production.

In this highly visible role, you'll work directly with company leadership to drive R&D from initial concept through prototyping, testing, manufacturing scale-up, and commercialization. You'll primarily work with composites, carbon fiber, natural fibers, polymers, and nonwoven materials while helping establish the technical direction of the company.

This is a hands-on technical leadership position for an engineer who is equally comfortable developing new materials, solving complex technical problems, and bringing new technologies into commercial production.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Green Eagle's R&D and engineering initiatives from concept through testing, scale-up, and commercialization

• Develop and optimize composite and fiber-based materials utilizing carbon fiber, natural fibers, polymers, and other reinforcement systems

• Evaluate and apply nonwoven and fiber-processing technologies to new product development

• Design experiments, develop prototypes, and analyze results to improve material and process performance

• Translate laboratory and pilot-scale developments into scalable manufacturing processes

• Define requirements for manufacturing equipment, tooling, and processes required for commercialization

• Lead technical collaboration with research partners, laboratories, suppliers, and equipment manufacturers

• Identify emerging technologies and patentable innovations, and work with company leadership and patent counsel to develop new intellectual property

• Build and lead Green Eagle's engineering and R&D capabilities as the company grows

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline

• 5+ years of relevant engineering, materials development, product development, or R&D experience

• Strong understanding of composite materials and fiber-reinforced material systems

• Working knowledge of nonwoven materials, fiber processing, and/or nonwoven manufacturing technologies

• Experience developing new materials or products from concept through testing, scale-up, and manufacturing

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, project-management, and communication skills, with the ability to lead technical projects while remaining hands-on

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a relevant engineering or materials discipline

• Experience with carbon fiber composites, including recycled or discontinuous carbon fiber

• Experience with natural fibers, including hemp, wood fiber, cellulose, flax, or similar materials

• Experience with nonwoven manufacturing processes such as airlaid, carding, needle punching, or thermal bonding

• Experience with thermoplastic composites, polymer processing, and/or scaling new materials into commercial production
