Hexcel is currently seeking an Aluminum Flexcore Operator for our Casa Grande, AZ, USA location. Start rate: $28.69 Per Hour during the New Hire Orientation Period – normally 90 calendar days, then increases to $31.27 Per Hour. This position pays a $1.75 per hour shift premium and is on our “T3” 2x2x5x5 shift: Monday, Thursday, and Friday (Week 1) 7:00PM to 7:00AM; and Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (Week 2) 7:00PM to 7:00AM. Note that the workday on this shift is designated by the day the shift ends. Overtime is often required.
The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
- Performs a wide variety of tasks associated with web corrugated products to test, adjust, regulate and control processes on the line. These include maintaining the oven temperature, line speed, solvent drip, and the satellite adhesive vat temperature and viscosity
(solids) and condition.
- Verifies that chemicals are within required operating parameters.
- Loads machine with foil. Charges, adjusts, and cleans up adhesive systems. Determines from M.O. material to be processed and results to be achieved.
- Adjusts machine temperature speed and air pressures.
- Measures and/or checks material visually or physically to determine quality of process.
- Adjusts machine sheet length.
- Monitors processes to ensure product is being built per WCI’s and Job Routers.
- Utilizes SPC where required.
- As needed is required to operate other equipment.
- Inspects and presents to internal customers products that meet or exceed the product specifications.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year experience required preferably in manufacturing. Minimum of 6 months manufacturing experience in the Hexcel Casa Grande facility may substitute in lieu of one year experience. Previous Hexcel experience preferred.
- Must be proficient in use of tape measure and ruler.
- Basic working knowledge of computer data entry function required.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must be able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
