Purpose of Job

Support applications research to develop new products and applications to meet existing and emerging customer and market needs

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage and maintain a variety of research instruments within the laboratory.
  • Supports research projects that address the technical objectives of the research group including measurement of surface activity, rheology and foaming characteristics, synthesis of new molecules and applications testing in a variety of different end use markets.
  • Documents results in research reports and presents key finding in group meetings, departmental seminars and industry associate meetings.
  • Interacts with manager and group members, and routinely interacts with other research groups in the local laboratory.
  • Develops and maintains relationships within research group, LC R&D department, and possibly with contacts outside the R&D department, depending upon the domain of the job.
  • Regularly interface with external customers and industry peers.

Formal Education

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry or other physical science.

Working Experience

  • Ph.D. plus 1-2 years relevant experience is preferred.

Required Personal And Professional Skills

  • Familiar with working in the laboratory
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc) and ability to work on instruments with computer interface
  • Interpersonal and Self-management Skills
