Duties and responsibilities
+ Development of new materials and Products in growth-oriented, fast paced development environment.
+ Collaborate with broad range of technical expertise throughout the company
+ Improve upon existing materials and products.
+ Laboratory testing and evaluation of raw materials and refractory systems to ensure new products meet or exceed target characteristics
+ Failure analysis – be a technical resource for material related failures
+ Establish and maintain development project timelines and status updates
+ Provide technical support and assist with scale up of new materials & processes into manufacturing
+ Qualify new and/or alternate raw materials for existing formulations
+ Participate in cross-functional initiatives as required
+ Technical resource to Sales, Engineering and Operations
+ Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
include:
+ BS in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Chemistry
+ Proven track record in fast-paced, innovative development environment
+ At least 2 years of experience in related role within a manufacturing company
+ Proficient in MS Office applications & virtual meeting environments (Teams, Zoom, etc.)
+ Proficient in laboratory testing methods and equipment
+ Experienced working in cross-functional and cross-site teams and working as an individual contributor
+ A background as a problem-solver
Preferred qualifications
include:
+ MS in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Chemistry
+ Proven track record in fast-paced, innovative development environment
+ Demonstrated experience in hard refractories
+ Experience in DOE (Design of Experiments)
+ Has knowledge in data-driven process control or basic SPC discipline
+ Familiarity with data acquisition methods and software
