Purpose

This Research Engineering/Scientist Assistant is to conduct research, help supervise and mentor students, and perform miscellaneous duties.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent and collaborative research aligned with the Cosgriff-Hernandez Laboratory's mission to develop advanced polymeric biomaterials for medical devices. Establish and optimize experimental protocols for biomaterial synthesis, fabrication, characterization, and biological evaluation, while helping manage laboratory operations and shared research facilities.
• Provide scientific and technical guidance to undergraduate and graduate students on related projects, fostering a collaborative and rigorous research environment.
• Miscellaneous duties including research discussions, equipment maintenance, paper and proposal writing, external collaborations, etc. Develop and maintain collaborations with investigators across engineering, clinical, and translational disciplines to advance multidisciplinary research.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or closely related field

*Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.*

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with mammalian cell culture and aseptic methods.

Salary Range

$35,568+ depending on qualifications

Work Shift

• M-F, 8 AM - 5 PM
• Occasional nights and weekends may be required
