Position Overview
Develop, implement, and coordinate product assurance programs to prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products. Participate in all activities involved in new product planning, problem resolution, continuous improvement and conformance verification.
Essential Job Functions
- Maintain systems, procedures, and work instructions to inspect manufactured plastic parts for quality standards including develop, analyze and record in-process and finished goods inspection data to readily indicate problem processes or and to provide trend analysis.
- Review of customer drawings for GD&T and assign appropriate inspection techniques and frequency.
- Oversee and continuous improvement of several QMS processes - nonconforming material, calibration and complaint processes Provide inspection and data analysis expertise to Quality Control Inspectors as needed.
- Manage new part acceptance process which includes validations IQ/OQ/PQ, GAGE R&R, PPAPs and FAIs. Duties include interpretating customer requirements to write protocols, data analysis and statistics to generate final reports.
- Work with manufacturing to address product quality issues.
- Support root cause corrective action activities.
- Oversight and continuous improvement of Quality Control metrics.
- Propose initiate and follow up corrective actions generated by the Quality system.
- Ensure an organized and efficient quality lab and quality inspection area to promote a clean and safe working environment.
Education, Skills, Training and Experience
- AS/BS Engineering, Science or similar
- Minimum of five years job related experience
- Minitab
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
- Must be able to use Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong working knowledge of GD&T and the ability to read and interpret complex drawings.
- Sound knowledge and abilities in statistic and data analysis. Experience with Minitab a bonus
- General knowledge of quality inspection tool use required: Micrometers, calipers, etc.
- Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers, customers and others.
