Role details
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
Job responsibilities:
1. Formulate inks for flexible packaging substrates, including BOPP, PET, PE, CPP, and other relevant plastic films. 2. Develop inks for surface printing and reverse printing applications. 3. Select and optimize suitable resins, pigments, solvents, waxes, additives, and other raw materials. 4. Improve key performance properties, including adhesion, printability, color strength, gloss, drying speed, rub resistance, and bond strength. 5. Develop formulations for lamination inks compatible with solvent-based and, where applicable, solvent-free lamination adhesives. 6.
Troubleshoot printing defects, including poor adhesion, blocking, foaming, pinholes, doctor blade marks, poor transfer, and inconsistent color development. 7. Optimize formulations for cost efficiency without compromising product quality. 8. Establish laboratory testing procedures, quality control standards, and formulation documentation. 9. Support pilot-scale trials, production scale-up, customer trials, and technical problem-solving. 10. Train local technical personnel and transfer formulation and production know-how to the company's technical team.
Additional requirements:
1. Demonstrated hands-on expertise in both gravure and flexographic printing inks. 2. Strong knowledge of printing ink raw materials, including polyurethane (PU), polyamide, nitrocellulose (NC), acrylic, and other relevant resin systems. 3. Practical experience in pigment dispersion, color matching, viscosity control, solvent selection, and formulation optimization. 4. Experience with flexible packaging inks and film substrates. 5. Proven ability to identify and resolve ink formulation and printing performance problems. 6. Experience in commercial production and industrial-scale formulation transfer.
Experience required:
- 8- 10 years in related field.
