Position Overview

DT Manufacturing is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This position will play a key role in supporting all phases of product development and launch, ensuring compliance with applicable industry standards, identifying manufacturing challenges, and developing effective solutions.

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement, optimize manufacturing processes, and support the successful delivery of high-quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations.

This position is primarily based in Davisburg, MI, with occasional work required at our Highland, MI location as business needs dictate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support quote process with preliminary manufacturing plans, tooling quote process and design for manufacturing input.
  • Provide input on vendor selection.
  • Develop initial PFMEA, work with team on Control Plan.
  • BOP verification, DFM sign off, support TKO process, develop 1st build plan and pre-launch requirements.
  • Tool run-off approval, delivery and internal run at rate verification. Verify manufacturing plan.
  • Track and verify launch performance, Problem solve and continuous improvement.
  • Work with all cross-functional teams to execute all of the responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Industrial Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience in manufacturing engineering with skills in injection molding technologies and problem solving.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, PFMEAs, control plans.
  • Knowledge of problem-solving techniques.
  • Strong analytical, communication, organization, and teamwork skills.

Physical & Working Conditions In this role, you will need to have the ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. There is the possibility of frequent bending, reaching, grasping, and lifting up to 50 lbs. The work environment includes both climate-controlled office space and manufacturing floor exposure. Manufacturing conditions may include temperature extremes, dust, fumes, high noise levels, and exposure to hazardous materials such as plastic and metal shavings, lubricants, coolants, and cleaning solutions.
