Job Summary

Alsym Energy is looking for a self-driven and motivated lab technician with a passion in the field of energy storage. In this position, the candidate will have an opportunity to drive rapid and innovative advancements in materials and processes for next-generation energy storage systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for active product development efforts and will work closely with a team of engineers and scientists to deliver Sodium-ion systems with demanding performance requirements.

Key Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in a laboratory, research or production setting
• Familiarity with powder analytical processes is a plus (Particle Size Analysis, pH measurements, XRD etc.) is preferred
• Familiarity with powder production equipment (furnaces, spray driers, milling) is highly preferred
• Hands-on individual capable of debugging basic process/equipment issues
• Responsible, accountable, self-motivated individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Moderate Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, Excel)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Execute powder prototyping and production activities by following and contributing to SOPs
• Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on lab equipment
• Set-up and clean-up of powder prototyping equipment (spray dryer, mills, glass and steel ware etc.).
• Execute analytical testing QC on powder samples
• Maintain a detailed log of activities via batch sheets or similar
• Perform general housekeeping including waste water disposal, cleaning pilot plant equipment, and ordering supplies as needed
