We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Cosmetic Chemist to join our innovative research and development team. Duties

• Lead the design and development of new cosmetic formulations utilizing advanced knowledge of organic chemistry, formulation chemistry, and polymer synthesis
• Conduct comprehensive laboratory experiments to optimize product stability, efficacy, and sensory attributes using laboratory techniques such as spectroscopy, chromatography (including high-performance liquid chromatography), and materials analysis
• Manage chemical scale-up projects from laboratory bench to manufacturing scale while ensuring adherence to CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice) and FDA regulations
• Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality control, regulatory affairs, and research teams to ensure seamless product development and regulatory compliance
• Develop innovative formulations incorporating polymers and other materials to enhance product performance and consumer appeal
• Design experiments using statistical tools like design of experiments (DOE) to improve formulation robustness and process efficiency
• Maintain detailed documentation of all laboratory activities, analytical data, and experimental results in compliance with GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) standards

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or related field; advanced degree preferred
• Extensive laboratory experience in cosmetic or pharmaceutical research & development with a focus on formulation chemistry and analytical chemistry techniques
• Proven expertise in chemical synthesis, drug discovery processes, and drug formulation development
• Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks including FDA regulations, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), CGMP standards, and pharmaceutical regulatory compliance
• Experience with spectroscopy (such as UV-Vis, IR), chromatography (HPLC), materials analysis, and laboratory instruments used in materials engineering
• Demonstrated ability to lead chemical scale-up projects from lab to production while maintaining quality standards
• Excellent cross-functional communication skills to coordinate with teams across research, manufacturing, quality control, and regulatory departments
• Familiarity with intellectual property law related to cosmetic formulations is a plus
• Passion for innovation in cosmetic science combined with a meticulous approach to experimental design and documentation
