Process Engineer

Role details

• Job Description Key Responsibilities: Work alongside mold change teams, ensuring efficient, timely, and safe mold changes in alignment with production schedules. Mentor and develop process technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability. Conduct process studies and implement improvements to optimize cycle times, reduce waste, and enhance overall process efficiency. Analyze scrap data, identify root causes of scrap, and develop and implement strategies to reduce scrap rates and improve product quality. Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime. Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting molding process issues and implementing corrective actions. Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements, promoting a safe work environment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and engineering, to support new product launches and process changes. Prepare and present reports on process performance, scrap reduction efforts, and other key metrics to management.
• Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a molding or manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive industry. Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate teams, including process technicians. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in process optimization, scrap reduction, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).Knowledge of mold design, mold change procedures, and injection/compression molding processes. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Proficiency with MS Office Suite and familiarity with ERP systems.
