Summary At this time, SCI is recruiting highly qualified candidates whose background and career goals meet our needs for a Process Engineer Huntsville, AL. In this role, you will support manufacturing operations in the application of conformal coatings, designing and implementing industrial coating processes (automated and manual) on printed circuit boards, troubleshooting equipment, performing trials/tests, and executing continuous process improvement initiatives.

What You'll Do

• Develop, implement, and maintain methods and processes for manufacturing and fabricating circuit card assemblies, sub-assemblies, and final enclosure assemblies.
• Support manufacturing operations in the application of conformal coatings, designing and implementing automated and manual industrial coating processes on circuit boards.
• Create standard operating procedures, process work instructions, preventative maintenance/calibration schedules, and operator training packages.
• Support production equipment automation, programming, tooling procurement, and process development, submitting capital equipment recommendations and justifications.
• Evaluate adhesive bonding and conformal coating chemistries, tooling, equipment, and methodologies for continuous improvement using Lean/Six Sigma principles.
• Estimate manufacturing costs and make process/tooling recommendations for new or existing product lines.
• Perform trials, tests, and experiments to support engineering, production, and R&D activities while troubleshooting equipment/systems.
• Work cross-functionally across engineering disciplines, train/support junior personnel, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

What You'll Bring

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Process Engineering or equivalent direct industry experience required.
• Experience: 2–4 years of experience in Electronics Manufacturing.
• Solid knowledge of electronics manufacturing, mechanical assembly, coating applications, DMAIC principles, and Microsoft Office software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of management and manufacturing personnel.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, determine priorities, and maintain scheduling objectives to meet daily customer/operational needs.

How to Stand Out

• Formal Lean Six Sigma background (Green Belt or Black Belt).
• Direct experience researching and developing lean manufacturing operations utilizing leading-edge, automated conformal coating and dispensing platforms.
