Position Overview

Expleo is seeking experienced

MRB Design Engineers (Levels III-VI)

to provide engineering expertise, technical leadership, and Material Review Board (MRB) disposition support across aerospace manufacturing programs.

These opportunities span from experienced individual contributors to recognized industry experts who can independently resolve complex nonconformances, develop innovative repair solutions, influence technical strategy, and lead cross-functional engineering initiatives. Depending on experience and demonstrated capability, candidates may be considered for Levels III, IV, V, or VI.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform MRB analysis, evaluation, and disposition of nonconforming aircraft structures and components
• Assess the impact of nonconformances on fit, form, function, safety, and airworthiness
• Develop repair, rework, and corrective action solutions for metallic and composite structures
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, standards, and manufacturing requirements
• Collaborate with Design Engineering, Stress Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Suppliers, and Customers
• Provide technical justification and supporting documentation for MRB decisions
• Support customer-facing technical discussions and engineering reviews
• Lead resolution of highly complex and critical engineering issues
• Develop and improve engineering methodologies, repair standards, and MRB processes
• Influence technical strategy, risk mitigation, compliance initiatives, and organizational capability development
• Mentor engineers and support knowledge transfer across engineering teams
• Serve as a technical authority for internal stakeholders, customers, and regulatory representatives, as appropriate to level

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
• Degree must be from an ABET-accredited institution or equivalent program recognized under the Washington Accord
• Experience supporting aerospace structures, MRB activities, or aircraft design engineering
• Strong knowledge of metallic and composite aircraft structures
• Proficiency interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation
• Working knowledge of SAP NCMS or similar nonconformance management systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

• Previous MRB signing authority or delegated technical approval experience within the past 3-5 years
• Experience supporting Boeing commercial aircraft programs, particularly the 737 and/or 787 platforms
• CATIA V5 proficiency for model and drawing interrogation
• Prior DOA experience, concessions training, TIPQA, or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of airworthiness, certification, and regulatory compliance requirements

Experience Guidelines by Level

Level III-IV

• Typically 5-13 years of aerospace and/or MRB engineering experience
• Ability to independently disposition nonconformances and lead technical problem-solving activities

Level V

• Typically 14+ years of aerospace and/or MRB engineering experience
• Recognized technical authority capable of influencing program strategy, compliance, and engineering standards

Level VI

• Typically 20+ years of aerospace and/or MRB engineering experience
• Industry-recognized expert with demonstrated experience developing methodologies, driving innovation, and shaping long-term technical strategy

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly pay range: $66.00 - $90.00+ per hour
• Level placement (III, IV, V, or VI) will be determined during the evaluation process based on a candidate's qualifications, technical expertise, relevant experience, scope of prior responsibilities, and overall alignment with business needs
• Final compensation will be commensurate with the assigned level, experience, skills, market conditions, and geographic considerations
• $3,000 retention sign-on bonus after 90 days of successful employment
• $5,000 retention bonus after 12 months of employment
• Additional relocation assistance available for qualified out-of-state candidates
