Role details
A Snapshot of Your Day
Drive the future of gas turbine manufacturing through advanced simulation, digital manufacturing, and engineering innovation. In this role, you will lead the development and application of cutting-edge manufacturing simulation technologies used to improve turbine component quality, manufacturability, reliability, and production efficiency.
Working with global teams across engineering, manufacturing, materials, and foundry operations, you'll leverage simulation-driven insights, predictive modeling, data analytics, and model-based engineering techniques to predict defects, optimize manufacturing processes, influence component design decisions, and accelerate the development of next-generation gas turbine technologies.
This position is ideal for engineers with backgrounds in manufacturing simulation, casting simulation, investment casting, foundry engineering, process development, metallurgical engineering, turbomachinery, aerospace manufacturing, digital manufacturing, or advanced manufacturing technologies who want to make a direct impact on critical energy infrastructure.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Develop and apply advanced manufacturing, casting, and multi-physics simulation methodologies to improve product quality, reduce defects, increase manufacturing yield, and enhance process reliability.
- Drive Design for Manufacturability (DfM) initiatives by integrating manufacturability considerations early in turbine component design and development while minimizing production risk.
- Predict and mitigate manufacturing challenges through simulation-based analysis of casting processes, solidification behavior, thermal performance, cooling effectiveness, and defect formation.
- Partner with design, materials, manufacturing, supplier, and foundry teams to optimize turbine airfoils, blades, vanes, and hot gas path components for performance, durability, manufacturability, and cost.
- Lead technical problem-solving efforts using computational modeling, predictive analytics, testing, process validation, and digital manufacturing tools to improve efficiency, reduce lead times, and lower production costs.
- Advance manufacturing innovation through digital twin technologies, manufacturing analytics, simulation best practices, and next-generation turbine manufacturing processes across global engineering teams.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing simulation, casting simulation, process modeling, computational modeling, FEA, CFD, thermal analysis, or other advanced engineering simulation disciplines.
- Hands-on experience with ProCAST, MAGMASOFT, ANSYS, STAR-CCM+, Simcenter 3D, Abaqus, or similar simulation platforms used in manufacturing and product development environments.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, investment casting, turbomachinery, aerospace, foundry, power generation, advanced manufacturing, or process development applications.
- Strong understanding of simulation-driven engineering, Design for Manufacturability (DfM), process optimization, manufacturing process development, digital manufacturing, predictive modeling, and model-based engineering principles.
- Knowledge of investment casting, foundry manufacturing, solidification modeling, casting defect prediction, ceramic core manufacturing, metallurgical engineering, thermal systems, cooling technologies, turbine component manufacturing, or manufacturing technology development, combined with strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship
Export Control Requirement
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
