Role details
Anthro Energy is looking for a motivated Electrolyte R&D Intern to join our team for a 6-month full time internship starting in January 2027. In this role, you’ll work alongside our scientists and engineers to develop and evaluate Anthro Proteus electrolytes, our next-generation electrolyte platform for advanced batteries. You’ll get hands-on experience across the full development cycle, from formulating and characterizing new electrolytes to testing them in battery cells and turning the results into insights that guide our work. This is a great opportunity for a curious, detail-oriented student who wants to build real-world experience in battery materials and electrochemistry.
Responsibilities
Electrolyte formulation: assist in the design and preparation of Anthro Proteus electrolyte formulations Testing & analysis: perform electrolyte characterizations, including ionic conductivity, viscosity, moisture, and HF content. Evaluate mechanical properties of Anthro Proteus electrolytes. Conduct electrochemical evaluation of electrolytes in battery cells. Data collection & reporting: collect and analyze the experimental data to identify trends and insights. Prepare detailed reports and present findings to the team. Follow all laboratory safety protocols and ensure proper handling of chemicals and equipment according to SOPs. Internship Duration: 6-9 months starting January 2027.
Requirements Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field Hands-on experience in a lab setting, including chemical handling and preparation Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, proficient in python and data analysis Nice to have: Previous experience in battery related fields and familiar with some characterization techniques (e.g., EIS, CV, coin cell preparation) Understanding of electrochemistry, polymer chemistry, stress-strain behavior, and battery fundamentals Experience with glovebox operations and handling moisture sensitive materials Benefits Engaging, real-life work experience Part of an innovative, cutting-edge team and technology Diverse and inclusive work environment Hourly rate of $34.38
